The Matrix Effect
What is Photoshop?
Adobe Photoshop is one of the most widely used programs among professional designers and graphics producers to create sophisticated images for print, the Web, wireless devices, and other media. In other words, its like a swiss army knife for all your imaging needs.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to add simple effects to your text to make them stand out.
How to create the Matrix Effect in photoshop?
Open up Adobe Photoshop. Then click on File, New to create a new file. Preset to Custom. Enter the Width and Height (For this example I chose 350*150) Also, make the background white and color mode to RGB. As shown in the figure below.
Right click on Layer(which is located on bottom right side of the screen) and select duplicate layer. This will add a new layer.
After adding a layer, choose white as your foreground color and Black for your background color.
Add a background color by selecting Edit on the main menu, then click on Fill. Now choose background color in use. Also select normal in mode and 100 % in opacity.
Select the Type Tool and choose the Horizontal type tool from the options bar at left of the screen.
Next click inside the box and type any text you want (for our example its Matrix).
Check mark in the tool bar(just below the main menu) to finalize the text. Once you have done that, you cannot type any more text.
Right click on Layer(which is located on bottom right side of the screen) and select duplicate layer. This will add a new duplicate layer.
Now to add our first effect to the text select Filter from the main menu. Then select Radial Blur under Blur. Then specify the amount of blur you want(our case 30). Next select the blur method as zoom and quality as best.
Choose Blending options under layer toolbar(by right click on the current layer as shown in the figure below).
Now choose Outer Glow and color as green as shown in the figure.
Keep repeating step 9 once or twice as per your requirement.
Congratulations! You have achieved your goal.
